By massage therapy, muscle tension, stiffness and pain in the joints also decrease and help the body by increasing the flexibility and mobility. The word Massage has been derived from Frenh massage which means “friction of kneading” and from Arabic word massa which means “to touch, feel and handle”. During the massage therapy session, the person being treated is required to lie down on the massage table. He may be fully or partly unclothed. The massage therapist can cover parts of the body with towels or with sheets depending on the comfort of the person going for the massage therapy.
